  • To share local health knowledge that effects your cohort of children and families
  • To Provide local and national updates
  • To share learning and support each setting with their healthy Tots portfolios
  • To provide brief training regarding a popular topic

Information Session on how to become a  Leicestershire Healthy Tots (LHT) Accredited Setting

 

We would like to invite you to hear more about how your setting can become an accredited Healthy Tots Setting. At this meeting you will be provided with the following information:

  • what a Healthy Tots setting is and why it is important
  • what is involved and how it works
  • you will receive the Leicester-Shire Healthy Tots Toolkit and other guidance documents to work through
  • additional information to support you

Purposeful Physical Play Training

 Join the movement to promote physical literacy/physical development.

FREE training to enable you to promote and deliver effective purposeful play and physical development programmes to children aged 0-5 years.

What the training will offer you:

  • - On-going support from experts in the field
  • - Access to a comprehensive resource bank
  • - Practical ideas on how to create positive enabling environments & providing positive activities for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers
  • - Practical evidence based ideas on how to engage with parents in purposeful physical play
  • - Neurological development from birth and the importance of movement in brain growth

Nutrition For Leicestershire Healthy Tots
This training is Free and the aim of the session is to enable you to provide and promote a whole setting approach to good nutrition for children 0-5years old.
 

What the training will offer:

  • Ongoing support from experts in the field
  • Access to comprehensive information and resources concerning diet in the under 5’s
  • Key nutrition issues for the under 5’s and how to address them
  • Support to help you assess and adapt your menus
  • Practical ideas for meals and snacks
  • Guidance on portion sizes for children under 5
  • Resource to share with parents

Emotional Health and Wellbeing Training for Leicestershire Healthy Tots 

FREE Training for early years practitioners to support Emotional health and wellbeing as part of the Leicestershire Healthy Tots Programme.
 

Are you the Healthy Tots coordinator for your Early Years Setting? Do you manage, work or volunteer in an early years or childcare setting, or a children’s centre? This training will support you to provide better outcomes for children’s emotional health and well-being. This training supports your practice to help children to grow their social and emotional skills in positive ways. As a result, children can develop problem solving skills, resilience, and the social skills that benefit their friendships and behaviour.

We will help you to:

  • - understand how you can fulfil the criteria for the Emotional health and wellbeing core theme of the Leicestershire Healthy Tots Programme

  • - think about what we are trying to achieve for better outcomes for children

  • - examine how Ofsted may inspect and assess your practice in this area

  • - explore the principles of supporting children’s social and emotional skills

  • - understand how the Early Years Outcomes support children’s self-regulation

  • - understand frameworks for children’s behaviour

  • - explore effective actions for providing an environment which stimulates and supports learning and development.
